Petrochemical Gear Metering Pump
Petrochemical gear metering pumps utilize the rotational motion of one or more pairs of precisely meshing gears within the pump chamber to achieve the suction, transfer, and precise metering of fluids. When the driving gear is rotated by the drive mechanism, the driven gear rotates synchronously in the opposite direction through its engagement with the driving gear. On the suction side, the gear teeth gradually separate, and the sealed volume units gradually expand, creating a negative pressure zone, causing the fluid to be drawn in by the pressure difference. As the gears rotate, the fluid is carried to the discharge side, where the gear teeth gradually mesh, the sealed volume units shrink, and the fluid is squeezed out. Because the number of sealed volume units formed by the gear teeth and the volume of each unit are fixed for each rotation of the gear, the volume of fluid delivered by the pump is also fixed. Therefore, the flow rate can be precisely controlled by controlling the gear speed.
